The Personalization Path Officially Begins in Vaasa!
Last month, the CNR team met ten students from the new UVAASA cohort to initiate the project’s baseline assessment phase as outlined in our core framework.
Biometric Monitoring & Stress Response Evaluation
To capture and analyze key psychophysiological responses, participants were equipped with three non-invasive wearable sensors measuring essential biometric markers:
- EEG (Electroencephalography) for brain activity
- ECG (Electrocardiography) for cardiac function
- GSR (Galvanic Skin Response) for autonomic arousal
The experimental session began with a baseline phase (a one minute and a half resting state while seated), followed by two standardized stressors designed to measure performance and emotional response under pressure:
- MIST (Montreal Imaging Stress Task): Solving arithmetic calculations within five minutes while a dynamic timer countdown is displayed on screen.
- Public Speaking Task: Delivering a short presentation on key topics surrounding Artificial Intelligence.

Looking Ahead
The testing session was remarkably successful in terms of high-quality data collection. Beyond the quantitative results, listening to the students’ perspectives and ideas about AI was inspiring and highly stimulating for the entire research team!
