In June 2025, Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM) held its second collaborative workshop as part of the European Digi-Me project, bringing together companies, professors, and academic experts. The objective: to identify the essential digital skills business managers need today and in the future.
For two hours, participants analyzed the impact of emerging digital technologies already transforming practices: artificial intelligence, big data, blockchain, and data-driven management tools.
One of Digi-Me’s key success factors is co-construction. Rather than designing programs based only on assumed knowledge, the project relies on companies’ practices and innovation stakeholders to define the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to be developed in training. The result: a competency framework for Business Managers of responsible techno-digital transformation (DIGI ME), enriched through participants’ contributions and refined by the expertise of the academic teams.
Around ten competency blocks were defined, ranging from economic and technological monitoring to strategic investment management, hybrid human-machine team leadership, multidisciplinary communication, and the responsible integration of innovations.
The goal is to provide managers with practical tools to anticipate and innovate while reducing the risks linked to digital transformation. By involving higher education institutions, professional associations, and businesses across France, Italy, and Finland, the Digi-Me project, funded by the European Union, aims to strengthen competitiveness and support digital transition in Europe.
