In February, Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM) launched its first workshop as part of the European Digi-Me project. This meeting brought together companies, professors, and the Digi-Me project team around a key objective: identifying the essential skills business managers need to effectively support changes brought about by digital transformation.
At the heart of the project lies a strong value proposition: accelerating organizational capacity for innovation and digitization in innovative companies and start-ups through co-development, while reducing the risks linked to the integration of new digital technologies.
During the first two-hour workshop, participants worked on two main themes: selecting the emerging digital technologies most likely to impact management in the coming years, and analyzing their impact on business managers’ skills. Artificial intelligence, Edge Computing, and the Internet of Things fueled discussions, highlighting the deep transformations underway in the professional world.
The method adopted by Digi-Me relies largely on co-construction. The workshops combine academic and entrepreneurial perspectives to build a competency framework that is realistic and rooted in actual needs. The aim is to train business managers who can anticipate changes, accelerate innovation, and minimize risks associated with digital transformation.
These workshops are not merely theoretical exercises: they aim to produce concrete training tools tailored to the diversity of professions and sectors.
This first session also strengthened the link between GEM and the local economic ecosystem, highlighting the importance of dialogue between research, higher education, and businesses.

📌 The momentum is underway: two more workshops are already scheduled for March and April 2025 to continue this collaborative work and lay the foundations for a European competency framework for business managers’ digital skills.
