On March 27, Obloo Ventures, in collaboration with Italian Tech Alliance and MIB Trieste School of Management, organized #DeepscoverInnovation, a dynamic event in Trieste that brought fresh perspectives on what drives innovation in AI and deep tech.
The debates focused on two key questions:
↠ Is AI innovation driven more by deep technologies or by new business models?
↠ Are strong local ecosystems—with corporates and venture capitalists on the ground—the essential ingredient for deep-tech startups to thrive?
The discussions took place in the format of Oxford-style debates, described as true “sword fights of ideas.” By confronting opposing views, the panels highlighted how innovation emerges from the interplay of technology, business strategy, and the surrounding ecosystem.
The debates made clear that understanding these dynamics is fundamental to building innovation ecosystems that can truly drive progress. This aligns closely with the mission of the DIGI-ME project, which aims to equip the next generation of leaders with the skills to lead transformative change and foster collaboration between higher education institutions, research centers, startups, corporates, and investors—connecting education with industry from day one.
